Hello, my name is Tess Voigt, and I'm the artist behind Attic Menagerie.

My artistic practice is a reflection of my childhood experiences, where I was surrounded by craftwork and creativity. This has shaped my approach, which is more about a specific style and vibe than a single medium. I draw inspiration from the craft work I did as a kid and that of my family members. For me, there's no distinction between art and craft. I take pleasure in creating comprehensive artworks from materials and mediums that are often associated with craft.

If you see me at an art fair or take a peek at my portfolio, you will see my latest body of work, which also serves as the name of my website and business. Attic Menagerie is a place that moves. The Attic Menagerie is making art regardless of your resources and space. I found myself bleaching fabric with toilet bowl cleaner on the floor of my bathroom and gathering recycled materials from friends and family to finish sculptures for classes. This state of being inspired me to make a lot of "scrappy" artworks and use household items instead of expensive tools and studios.
